Andrea Perry worked as Crime Editor and Home Affairs Editor on the Sunday Express for over six years.
She was also a member of the well respected Crime Reporters Association.
Andrea frequently travelled internationally on crime stories and covered all the top murder inquiries as well as several high profile terrorism investigations including 7/7 and the killing of Jean Charles de Menezes.
She also covered the wedding of Royal couple Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles and interviewed Bob Geldof while covering Live8.
While working as a news reporter on the Daily Express she covered the September 11 attrocity interviewing the families of the victims of the tragedy in the UK.
Andrea gained extensive web experience working on a start up project Schoolsnet – an educational web site.
During her career she also worked as a health reporter on the Daily Mail's web-site www.femail.co.uk.
Andrea has television experience working for London Weekend Television on a prime time ITV1 crime documentary called Crimes of Passion.
Her career began as a trainee reporter on the Sidmouth Herald where she qualified having completed a three-year National Council for the Training of Journalists indentureship.
She left Sidmouth as chief reporter to join the well respected South London Press. She soon became chief reporter there too with special responsibility for the newspaper's local and national political coverage.
She wrote a popular weekly satirical political column. It featured the great and the good including: government ministers Harriet Harman, Tessa Jowell, and Keith Hill and Liberal Democrat front bencher Simon Hughes.
Her other achievements include: writing a fictional crime book and working on a script after completing a writing course with Kay Mellor. Andrea also completed a BBC assistant producers course and made her own documentary film on black on black violence.
